When change is sustained and pressure is high, clarity, energy and momentum often begin to erode and feel less — not because people aren't capable, but because the conditions around change (and them), stop supporting and working for them. 

Lighten Change focuses on redesigning those conditions — personally and collectively so decisions become clearer, energy more sustainable and progress possible again, even when the path ahead isn't fully laid out. 

Lighten Change is for when pushing through no longer works — and something more intentional is needed.

Hi, I'm MG

I work with leaders and senior professionals navigating change who are carrying more than they should have to carry alone. 

I’ve experienced first-hand, personally, how clarity and energy can erode quietly over time — and sometimes very quickly —  even when things look “fine” on the surface. That experience — alongside over 20 years as a senior leader in financial services, and my work as an ICF-qualified coach supporting people through pressure, responsibility and change — shaped the foundation of Lighten Change.

Across these contexts, I’ve seen how successful and meaningful change is rarely held by the individual alone. It’s shaped by both our internal conditions — such as awareness, alignment, identity and energy — and external conditions, what's around us — such as support, relationships, expectations, processes, finances, structures, dependencies and our 'systems'.

This work brings those insights together into a grounded, human approach to navigating change — one that focuses on creating the right personal and contextual conditions for sustainable progress, rather than relying on pressure or pushing through.

The lenses that guide Lighten Change 

My programmes and coaching are guided by two complementary lenses that help make sense of how change is being experienced — and what needs to shift.

SHINE — Personal conditions

SHINE focuses on personal conditions that most influence how someone experiences and moves through change — such as purpose, awareness, identity, values, energy, practices and support.

Rather than isolating a single issue, SHINE surfaces how these elements interact (or not), and where intentional shifts can restore alignment and movement.

Teamship — Collective conditions

Teamship looks at how change is held beyond the individual — in relationships, teams, and the wider context.

It explores how leadership, ownership and accountability, care and challenge show up day to day. When these elements are misaligned, pressure builds and momentum suffers.

Together SHINE and Teamship provide a shared language and structure for understanding both the personal and collective conditions that shape clarity, energy and momentum through change — and for designing what's needed in each unique situation.

Who is Lighten Change for?

Lighten Change is for highly capable, thoughtful people navigating change that’s starting to cost more than it gives. From the outside, they often look like they’re coping. Inside, clarity, energy or momentum is slipping.

This might be a life transition, a striving for success, a period of sustained uncertainty at work, a leadership role that feels heavier than expected, or a sense that something needs to shift — even if it's not yet clear how.

What makes this different from other coaching or programmes?

Rather than focusing on fixing surface issues, this work focuses on the conditions that shape how change is experienced — how decisions are made, what processes and practices make progress possible, how energy is sustained, and where support and responsibility sit over time.

What is coaching like with you?

My coaching is a transformational thinking partnership. It’s not about advice, fixing or telling you what to do, but about creating the space to think clearly, reconnect with what matters, and move forward with greater intention and alignment.

Do I need to have everything figured out to start?

No. This work is often most helpful when things aren’t clear. What matters is recognising that pushing through isn’t sustainable — and being open to a different way of approaching change.
